It is advised to purchase a prepaid sim card that is valid all over India and costs much less than using your phone from home country. Internet service is available from major cell phone companies in India and they can be purchased on prepaid basis. Wireless internet is also available in major hotels groups in India such as Taj Group of Hotels, RainTree Brand and other luxury hotels.

Indian Railiway System is very extensive and cover all corners of the country. You can directly make a reservation for a train at Indian Railway website. Currently they do not accept international credit cards and hence you have to use other means of paying for the ticket. Several tours can be booked from the website.
